Augmented Assemblies
NGV Architecture pavilion
Augmented Assemblies Studio performed and intensive group work to successfully generate aggregation formations following a specific logic of composition and behavior. The work focused on the creation of L systems iterations that would perform a surface like, sculptural and branch like. The project explores a typology that was being based specifically on a branching quality, by iterating multiple rulesets and components to create aggregations with very specific languages. The research focuses on using emerging hexagonal patterns within the branching quality previously described. This patternation has the capacity to develop well curated spatial aggregations based on a clear geometrical rule. By incorporating a new triangular component into the aggregation, it is possible to take the hexagonal formations into a surface like language.
