Yallourn³ = 1000
The project’s architectural proposition states that the future of the digital era will respond to the appearance of hyperscale technology parks that will establish a new framework of digital sovereignty.
The greatest interest of this project is to understand and speculate on the future dynamics of a digital based society such as The Metaverse. Therefore, the project is theoretically been based over digital culture theory in architecture.
This foundation has led to speculation about Architectural Affect, which is Loosely defined as the deep interdependent loop between subject and object in Architecture.
It has encountered a great crisis of scale and tectonics provoked by the rise of an imperceptible virtual infrastructure, And has captured how virtual technologies have slowly become contemporary landscapes.
But most importantly. The project is interested in understanding what is the physical transition towards a digital society? The answer to this question can be found by analyzing Data Centers as an Architecture Typology. One that is built through a strong theory of architecture, and dedicated to better integrate data within society.
This major project will understand Data centers as fields. They perform an entangled relationship between data, servers and energy. However, existing data centers behave as compounds rather than fields. Their long span warehouse design locate an interior core of servers surrounded by an outside layer of intertwined functional systems. The detachment of these buildings to place, embodies a dangerous formal translation of data ownership between users and service providers.
Yallourn³ = 1000 uses field conditions to dissect the existing objects of the site with the intention to establish a new contract between place and networks that will bring digital Sovereignty to the future of our meta civilization.
